January Monthly Meeting will be held on Friday, Jan 13th

In an effort to continually improve club involvement and host more events, the monthly meeting for January will NOT be held on the usual day (which would have been the 12th), but instead on Friday the 13th. Also, the meeting will NOT be held at Mi Tequila, but at one of our members' ranch in Valley Mills, TX. There will be 4 wheeling involved, so bring your rigs. PickUp Outfitters and CTOR

Thanks to Bobby over at Pickup Outfitters for letting CTOR store the RTI ramp in front of their building off of Lake Air Drive. I believe this is a big deal for the club in that the exposure we should get from this busy thoroughfare is priceless. We plan to add some sheet metal to the top part of the ramp so we can ad Pickup Outfitters logo to the ramp in appreciation.

Katemcy Rocks 2 Feb. 5, 2011

A few hardy souls made the trip to Katemcy Rocks 2 (K2) on Feb 5th and 6th and braved icy 16 degree nights for some beautiful days wheeling at the new park. The crawling went well, but as always, the rocks fought back and sent almost everyone home broken, stuck, or both. The new park is really developing well and already beginning to rival some of the best wheeling in the state. Come on out and join us next time, the new park has something for every level of wheeling, and an awesome campground.

Turkey Crawl 2010

This years Turkey call was great! After a Friday night of Thunderstorms Saturday revealed clear skys and great wheeling. Saturday night fried turkey and "Holiday Balls" made for an awesome Thanksgiving dinner for all. Don't miss next years event as they only get better every year....

Top Truck Challenge 2010!

One of our members, Ed Buster, recently competed in this year's Top Truck Challenge. He came back from Iraq for a few days and slung some mud with some of the best built trucks in the nation. CTOR has decided to make a last minute trip to support WFTW.

From their website
"The main event is scheduled for 1 May 2010 at Hidden Falls Adventure Park. As usual fun, food and entertainment will be provided. Make sure that you are a part of this great event and PRE-REGISTER now! We are now signing up soldiers, drivers and volunteers. Now is your chance to sign up for a great event!

We are expecting about 250 soldiers and families from Ft. Hood, BAMC, and the Austin Chapter of the Order of the Purple Heart. Not only do we have plenty off-roading planned but we have activities for everyone involved from the youngest to the oldest. Activities include a Moon Bounce, Face Painting, Balloon Artist, and the Humpty Dumpty Course. Live bands will be playing throughout the day for everyone's entertainment concluding with Paula Nelson (Willie's daughter). Local off-roading clubs and the Austin Chapter of the Order of the Purple Heart will be severing breakfast, lunch and dinner for our participants and guests.

We are asking wheelers to donate their rig to be used for this event as we did last year. You will drive your rig and a soldier or their family members Saturday. Pre-registered Drivers will pay a fee of $75.00 and includes up to three passengers, wheeling Friday - Sunday, three meals and entertainment on Saturday, as well as two nights of primitive camping. Those who show up at the gate will pay regular park fees. You must register before April 23rd.

CTOR RTI RAMP

Thats right ladies and gentlemen CTOR now has its very own RTI ramp. After Metals 2 Go donated nearly $600 in steel and with the other donations we recieved from club members we were able to go big(maybe overkill....) on the project. It stands seven and a half feet tall and is 15 feet long. The angle of the ramp is 30 degrees. I doubt anyone is topping this thing. We are still working on getting it painted and adding some graphics. Pictures of the build can be found in the projects section of the forum.

Thanks to Metals 2 Go and all those who helped in the build and donated parts.

Fall of 2009

Since the summer of this year we have been very active! Beginning in October there was the annual CTOR barbeque, then the Baylor Homecoming parade, and in November the first annual Turkey Crawl at BMRA(Gilmer). Most recently we nominated and voted on the 2010 CTOR Officers (CLICK HERE to see who the new officers are). The next upcoming event will be at Long's Ranch on January 23rd and 24th.
Please make note that we are in the process of changing meeting locations; the meeting on January 8th, 2010 will be at Rudy's BBQ in Waco at 7pm. Please stay tuned and check the calendar for future updates to the meeting locations.

End of Summer 2009

Well the BMRA(Gilmer) trip in August was such a success we are going to make it our November 13th trip as well(first annual CTOR Turkey Crawl). We are currently taking orders for club shirts and still have a bunch of koozies for sale. We had a couple prospective members show up to Septembers meeting and the meeting went well. Octobers meeting will take place on the 9th and the next day will be the annual CTOR barbeque out at Dave Bells place in Valley Mills(still working out the details). We are also going to be participating in the Baylor Homecoming Parade on October 24th.

May/Katemcy Rocks Wrap up.

First and foremost I'd like to welcome 2 new members to the club, Jason Arnold and Chris Happel.

We will now be mailing out a monthly club newsletter to all paying members(Thanks ClintP). The newsletter will feature recent and upcoming events along with a tech tip of the month and other club related events and info.

The Katemcy run went well, we got a lot of wheeling in and didn't really have any real bad breaks. The scenery is phenomenal and the wheeling is top notch for sure. Pictures will be uploaded soon and some already are already posted on the forum in the "Trail Reports" section.

There was a small group of us that joined "Jeep Nation" for the Topeless event at Lake Brazos Steakhouse. It was nice and we met some fellow wheelers in the area as a result.

Our next Meeting was moved up a week and is now scheduled for June 5th same place same time(check the calendar for more info). Hope to see everyone there. We are planning a little surprise for this one so show up and see what it is.

April Monthly Update

OK so maybe its more of a bi-monthly update this time. Once again we have had a great response so far in club membership and involvement. The Race for the Cure event turned out great and netted $250 in funds to donate to the cause. We had a good offroad event at Longs in March. The weather didn't really cooperate but all in all the event went well and everyone found out what needs to be worked on(some more than others)before the next trip. Our next meeting is scheduled for May the 8th we hope to see everyone there. We also have a few Katemcy offroading runs coming up if anyone is interested in attending those (Calendar) . These will not be "Official Trips" so no food will be provided by the club. Katemcy is arguably the best place to wheel in Texas and it will be closing forever this Summer so if you have never been there you better do it now.

Monthly Update

We have had great response so far with everyone's involvement in the club. The board would like to thank the members for all of their support. We went to Buckholts as a club in January, and had a great turn out. Look for the pictures to be updated soon. Some of the members also just returned from Katemcy. Some photos from there will be added as well. Our next meeting is February 13 at 7:00pm at Uncle Dan's on Valley Mills Dr. Be sure to come to the meeting for more information. If you have not paid your yearly club dues, we would appreciate doing so at this time. Also be sure to fill out the Member's Information Sheet to bring to the meeting. The next Club Trip will be on March 27, 28, and 29, of 2009. The club is going to Longs. More information will be provided at the meetings. Please look at the Calendar to see the Club's upcoming events. Once again, thanks to all of you that have helped us out.
